Counseling
The goal is to help support and empower the client.
Aileen Delaney, CT
Wintersville, TELEHEALTH
Aileen believes that counseling is a collaborative process between the counselor and client, and that as a counselor the goal is to help support and empower the client, through the therapeutic relationship, to achieve the client’s goals. She believes in seeing the person, not the diagnosis, and that our dignity & worth is inherent in our humanity. Aileen also believes in a holistic approach to self care & wellness. Lastly, she believes that self-compassion is so important, especially in our culture today – we are our own worst critics!

As an intern, she is excited to experience working with a variety of populations, ages, and evidence-based interventions. Aileen is most interested in working with women and is interested in CBT, ACT, and mindfulness-based therapies.

Aileen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Franciscan University of Steubenville, and she is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from FUS as well. She is also a member of the Psi Alpha Tau chapter of Chi Sigma Iota.

When asked what Aileen believes she is awesome at, Aileen replied, “I love to sing and I’ve been doing it since I was a little girl. I’ve performed in musicals and choirs over my school years and I’ve sang at church & weddings. Singing is something that makes me feel alive!”

“I was blessed to experience a semester abroad in Austria as a college student, and traveled to 8 countries while I was there! This inspired me with a love of travel & experiencing different cultures.”
