Counseling
Wellness is more than the absence of problems.
Lauren Beaver, LSW
Boardman, Canfield, Columbiana, East Palestine, TELEHEALTH
Lauren believes counseling is a collaborative process that helps people recognize their strengths, build resilience, and work toward meaningful change. To her, every person is the expert on their own life, and her role is to provide support, guidance, and a nonjudgmental space where they feel heard, understood, and empowered. She also believes wellness is more than the absence of problems, it involves emotional, mental, physical, social, and environmental well-being. As a social work student, Lauren values taking a holistic approach to care, meeting people where they are, and helping them identify the strengths and resources they already possess to navigate challenges and achieve their goals.

While she is still developing her areas of practice, she is particularly interested in working with children, adolescents, and families. Her interests include supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges, navigating life transitions, and building resilience during difficult times. Lauren is also especially passionate about serving rural communities and providing care through a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach that helps clients feel supported, empowered, and understood.

Lauren earned her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree from Youngstown State University in May 2026 and recently obtained her Licensed Social Worker (LSW) credential in Ohio. She is currently pursuing my Master of Social Work (MSW) through Youngstown State University’s accelerated one-year Advanced Standing Program.

She is also a member of the NASW and NAMI Columbiana County.

When asked what she’s awesome at, Lauren replied, “I am awesome at making people feel comfortable and accepted for who they are. I strive to build genuine relationships through empathy, authenticity, and a nonjudgmental approach. I enjoy helping others recognize their strengths, navigate challenges, and feel empowered to make positive changes in their lives.”

“A fun fact about me is that I enjoy spending time outdoors and reading mystery and psychological thriller books. I love exploring local parks, enjoying nature, and finding a good book that keeps me guessing until the very end.”
