Counseling

Benefits of Counseling

Counseling can help reduce stress, anxiety or depression, improve relationships and build stronger self- awareness. Many clients experience greater confidence, resilience and clarity about their goals and values. By working through difficult emotions or past experiences, counseling can foster a greater sense of peace and well-being, leading to lasting positive changes in everyday life.

Our Clients

Insight has welcomed over 10,000 clients through its doors who are seeking change. Our services are provided across the lifespan with some of our clinicians in attachment work seeing clients as young as infants. Clients come to us for a variety of reasons including a challenging phase of life, strong symptoms that are creating distress or disruptions, traumatic events, or to gain a deeper insight into their behavioral patterns, feelings, values and beliefs.

Our Clinicians

Clinicians at Insight are masters level counselors or social workers who have gone through rigorous requirements and training from some of the best colleges and universities around. Insight strives to hone in on and develop clinician specialties – either through the treatment modalities they use, or the specific needs of the clients we treat.

Clinician Specialties

All of Insight’s clinicians have theoretical orientations and use evidenced-based treatment modalities to align with their vision of counseling and produce top notch outcomes, such as:

Person-Centered Counseling
Person-centered counseling emphasizes the belief that each person has the capacity
for growth and change. In this approach, the counselor provides empathy, acceptance,
and genuine understanding, allowing clients to feel truly heard and empowering them to discover their own insights and solutions in a supportive environment.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
CBT is a goal-oriented form of counseling that focuses on the connection between
thoughts, feelings and behaviors. By identifying unhelpful thought patterns and learning
practical strategies to change them, individuals can reduce negative emotions and build healthier coping skills. CBT is well-researched and effective for many concerns, including anxiety, depression and stress.
Polyvagal Therapy
Polyvagal therapy is rooted in the science of the nervous system and how it responds to stress and safety. It helps individuals understand their body’s automatic reactions — such as fight, flight, or shutdown — and teaches techniques to regulate these responses. By creating a greater sense of safety and calm in the body, polyvagal therapy supports healing from trauma, anxiety and other emotional difficulties.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
ACT helps individuals live more fully by combining acceptance strategies with mindful action. Instead of struggling against difficult emotions or thoughts, clients learn to make space for them while focusing on what truly matters in their lives. ACT encourages people to clarify their values and commit to behaviors that align with those values, leading to greater resilience, flexibility and fulfillment.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is a specialized therapy designed to help people process and heal from
traumatic experiences. It uses guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral
stimulation to reduce the emotional intensity of distressing memories. Over time, EMDR
helps individuals reprocess these experiences in a healthier way, allowing them to feel
less “stuck” in the past and more present in their daily lives.
