East Palestine Community

The East Palestine community holds a special place in our heart here at Insight Clinical Counseling & Wellness. Not only was our office 0.2 miles from the train derailment site, many members of our Insight team have experienced firsthand the effects of the derailment. After the events of the train derailment, we knew there would be a tremendous need for mental health and wellness services for those in the community who lived through those events.

We immediately began advocating for and planning several programs to help the community when and where it is needed most. Some of the most common services community members have needed during this time include case management, support groups, reiki, massage and school based services.

No Cost Services

If you or someone you know is experiencing trauma or mental health related effects from those events, Insight is here to help. Through our partnerships, we are offering no-cost care to anyone who has been affected by the train derailment, whether you have insurance or not. Any out-of-pocket costs will be 100% covered. This includes:
• Diagnostic Assessments
• Individual Counseling
• Family Counseling
• Support Groups
• Case Management

Scholarship Program

Insight has partnered with Youngstown State University to launch the Insightful Empowerment Scholarship Program of East Palestine. This scholarship program will allow Insight to provide funding for tuition, books, fees and parking for a masters level YSU student in the counseling or social work programs, not only to provide care to the residents of East Palestine, but also to eliminate barriers to treatment and strengthen the life of the chosen candidate with an opportunity for advanced education. The program will award 10 scholarships over the course of 10 years.

Scholarship recipients will also complete a professional internship at Insight where they willwork with clients in the East Palestine area or surrounding communities.
