Counseling
Everyone has a story to tell.
Alyssa Hunter, LISW-S
Boardman, TELEHEALTH
Alyssa believes that counseling is an essential part of self-care. It’s a dedicated safe space that gives you the opportunity to process, reflect and gain clarity on life’s stressors. Counseling is more than just addressing, and “fixing” problems. It’s about self discovery, creating and maintaining a healthy balanced life. Counseling can help you identify areas of personal growth, and develop healthy coping mechanisms. Not only does counseling build tools to help you deal with and manage stressors, but it can help you build a sense of self-empowerment to live a fulfilling life.

She has a passion for working with adults who struggle with self-esteem related to body image, chronic dieting, and health related issues. Alyssa also has experience working with ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma and grief. She has years of experience utilizing a trauma-informed lens when dealing with life struggles.

Alyssa holds a Bachelors of Social Work from Youngstown State University, and Masters of Social Work from Edinboro University in Pennsylvania.

When asked what Alyssa believes she is awesome at, Alyssa replied, “I am awesome at using a light-hearted, humorous approach to meet clients where they are at. I believe that everyone has the ability to live a happy fulfilling life, and enjoy being able to witness clients journey towards happiness. I’m naturally a curious person, which enhances my ability to listen to clients, which helps aid the therapeutic connection.”

“I am a full-blown “Disney adult”, Disney World is my absolute favorite place in the world. I love being able to step out of the real world, and step into the magical Disney World bubble, Mickey ears and all! My favorite forms of self-care are pilates, coloring and doing jigsaw puzzles.”
