Shaiyla believes that wellness takes a consistent effort and cannot be achieved overnight. However, working to reach peak mental wellness leads to transforming into the best version of yourself.

She specializes in grief, trauma, depression anxiety PTSD, adjustment disorders, military veterans, and LGBTQ communities.

Shaiyla earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Youngstown State University, her Master of Arts in Strategic Communications from National University and her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from National University. She is also a graduate student pursuing a Master of Science in Education for Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Youngstown State University. Also, the professional organizations she belongs to is Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society International, the Wounded Warriors Project, and Military Order of the Purple Heart.

When asked what Shaiyla believes she is awesome at, Shaiyla replied, “I am awesome at adapting and overcoming the walls that life places in my path. Resiliency is everything.”

“I have been obsessed with the Titanic since childhood, I learned about it on PBS. In kindergarten, a book on the Titanic was my first purchase from a book fair. My teacher recommended a Barbie coloring book instead, but I refused to give it up. I still have the book.”
