Counseling
It can be a fulfilling and collective journey of healing and change.
Sophie Marino, MSW
East Palestine, TELEHEALTH
What do you envision when thinking of counseling? If you imagine it being anything like most, it may feel intimidating and vulnerable. As a counselor, Sophie hopes to provide a safe and non-judgmental place to work alongside you or your family. Counseling does not need to feel intimidating; it can be a fulfilling and collective journey of healing and change, by learning about oneself. Sophie will work towards setting goals that are meaningful to you or your family dynamic, and celebrate the little and big wins in therapy with you!

Sophie has worked mostly with children and teens for a total of five years. She previously worked with residential youth, foster families, and children in foster care. Sophie is well-versed in working with children, adolescents, and their guardians. She is knowledgeable in utilizing the frameworks of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) with these populations.

Sophie holds a Bachelor’s degree in social work from Slippery Rock University and a minor in Animal-Assisted Interventions she received in 2019. In 2023, Sophie received her Master’s in Social Work, from Youngstown State University.

When asked what Sophie believes she is awesome at, Sophie replied, “I am awesome at providing an open space for clients and guardians, where they can feel understood and can work towards their therapy goals. I listen to client’s needs and meet them where they are in their therapeutic journey. Further, I am creative in my approach to each client; I create or introduce different activities into sessions if it is helpful for the client.”

“My favorite pastimes are antique shopping, and ice skating!”
