Whitney believes therapy is like a road trip. It is full of twists and turns, unexpected detours, and other unforeseen challenges. Just as you plan a route for a road trip, entering therapy involves setting goals or intentions. You may know your destination—a place of healing or understanding—but the path to get there isn’t always straightforward. Just like unexpected detours on a road trip can delay your journey, negative childhood experiences can create obstacles as you grow. If you didn’t have a reliable map or guidance, it’s easy to feel lost. Similarly, lacking support or positive role models in childhood can make navigating adult life feel confusing and overwhelming. Along the way, just as you collect memories from a trip, your childhood experiences shape your identity and influence your worldview and interactions with others. Yet, once you reach your destination, the stresses of the journey fade away, leaving you with a deep sense of satisfaction and accomplishment.

She specializes in Childhood Trauma, Mood Disorders, Family Dynamics, Self-Empowerment and Interpersonal Skill Development. Throughout her career she has extensively worked with adopted children and children/adolescents in foster care.

Whitney holds a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. She also holds a Social Work license in both Ohio and Pennsylvania. Whitney is certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Life Space Crisis Intervention.

When asked what Whitney believes she is awesome at, Whitney replied, “I’ve often been told I’m approachable, relatable and easy to talk to. For that reason I’m awesome at building a healthy therapeutic relationship, where people can feel safe to traverse their journey and reach their ultimate potential.”
