The Insightful Families Program is designed to provide individual, family, couples counseling, group counseling and case management to strengthen our families, along with advocacy and outreach to our communities to create a partnership of care.
We’re developing strong relationships with area hospitals to provide education and training to hospital staff on how to talk to patients about post-partum depression and infant attachment, perform educational visits with patients at discharge to educate new mothers and their supportive partner/families on signs and symptoms of post-partum as well as newborn attachment and provide valuable information and resources for new mothers.
Clinician specialties in the Insightful Families Program include:
- Perinatal Mental Health Certification
- Perinatal Components of Care Training
- Ohio Infant Mental Health Family Practitioner (Level II)
- Family Therapy including background in multi-systemic therapy with at-risk youth
- Experience in advocating and assisting in development of 504/IEP accommodations
- Specialized training in military families, parent alienation, parental reunification
Support groups are key. Insight wants to make sure parents know they are not alone on their journey and believes the strength is in numbers. Support groups will focus on the needs of the mothers attending, have discussion topics in order to engage conversation when OR if it lacks and expand with age of the children.
The Insightful Families Program focuses on growth and development as children grow by transitioning into educationally focused classes. Classes will be weekly, with specific topics on parenting, which covers the lifespan of development and mental health. Every developmental stage will be covered with individualized support to help with teaching, understanding and prioritizing mental health as our children grow.
Couples counseling is an integral part of keeping families healthy and happy. Insight has a team of clinicians who have been trained in Gottman Level 1 and Level 2 for couples counseling, along with other evidenced based modalities for couples counseling, including couples in non-traditional relationships.
