About

The Molly Project

Bringing new life into the world is a beautiful journey, but for many new mothers, their partners and even family members, it can also be accompanied by unexpected challenges. From individualized counseling to group therapy, support groups and educational classes, our experienced and licensed clinicians are here to provide compassionate support for both you and your family. These services focus on preventing, identifying and treating mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which can occur during the perinatal period. The perinatal period includes pregnancy planning, during pregnancy, and 1 year postpartum.

Support for Every Journey

The Molly Perinatal Project is not just about pregnancy, our services include clinical support for infertility, abortion, adoption, family planning, miscarriage and traumatic labor and delivery, as well as fathers and other family members. We believe early intervention is key to preventing long-term mental health issues and fostering a healthy bond between parent and baby. We strive to have all perinatal referrals seen by a clinician or specially trained case manager within 2 business days of receiving the referral.

Our Reason

The Molly Perinatal Program is in memory of Molly H, a local psychiatric nurse practitioner who had a strong impact in the mental health field with her care and compassion for those affected by mental health disorders. Molly’s memory lives on with our efforts and mission to provide outreach and treatment to prevent suicide in pregnancy and postpartum.

Our Team

Our clinicians have attended intense training on perinatal mood disorders and offered tailored treatment. Not only are they specialized in this area, most have walked the walk around postpartum anxiety and depression, miscarriage, adoption, infertility and traumatic labor and delivery.

Know the signs
Are you feeling sad or depressed?
Do you feel more irritable or angry with those around you?
Are you having difficulty bonding with your baby?
Do you feel anxious or panicky?
Are you having problems with eating or sleeping?
Are you having upsetting thoughts that you can’t get out of your mind?
Do you feel as if you are “out of control” or “going crazy?”
Do you feel like you never should have become a parent?
Are you worried that you might hurt your baby or yourself?
Any of these symptoms, and many more, could mean that you have a perinatal mental health disorder. And the team of skilled clinicians at Insight are here to help.

Collaboration Matters

Insight has collaborated with local OB and GYN’s and pediatricians to encourage screening of pregnant and new moms for anxiety and depression symptoms related to perinatal mood disorders.

Since no hospitals in Columbiana County have labor and delivery units, medical care for pregnant mothers is minimal. This leads to the need to have continued outreach not just to OB and GYN’s, but to physicians and pediatricians as well.

Insight has a great relationship with the POEM program in Columbus which offers support, resources, referrals, a sense of community, education and advocacy opportunities to help moms and birthing persons in Ohio feel heard, understood and empowered. Insight provides telehealth services to mothers across the state.
