Welcome to our Mom Support Group
Sarah Peterson, MSW, LISW, ECMHC, OIFP-II
Licensed Social Worker & Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant
Motherhood brings incredible joy — but it also comes with complex emotional shifts that deserve support, understanding, and honest conversation. Our mom support group is a safe, welcoming space to explore the realities of life after birth, without judgment or pressure to “have it all together.”
Here, your experiences matter, and your feelings are valid. Together, we’ll talk openly about birth trauma, the role and involvement of support people, and the emotional impact of stepping into a new identity and changing roles. We’ll also address common but often unspoken experiences like the baby blues, shifts in partner and relationship dynamics, and the challenges of feeding expectations and body image after birth.
As life settles into a new rhythm, we’ll explore practical and emotional topics such as returning to work, navigating the stay-at-home versus working mom debate, and the added complexity of parenting multiples. These conversations are designed to normalize your experience and help you feel less alone.
We’ll also focus on survival and healing — self-care in the chaos, maintaining relationships, and learning when (and how) to let go of unrealistic societal expectations. Sometimes the most powerful growth comes from asking, “Who cares anyway?” and giving yourself permission to define motherhood on your own terms.
This group is about connection, support, and empowerment. Whether you’re thriving, struggling, or somewhere in between, you are welcome here—just as you are.
Our Moms Support Group meets twice a month at 1:30 p.m. at our New Middletown Location. To join our Group, call Insight Clinical Counseling and Wellness at (330) 542-4159.
