Counseling
Every individual deserves to be heard and valued.
Kaity Spitak, CT
Columbiana, TELEHEALTH
In Kaity’s view, counseling is a profoundly impactful process that hinges on the belief that every individual deserves to be heard and valued. As a counselor, she holds that everyone has the potential to succeed and is worthy of compassionate support. Kaity is deeply committed to fostering hope and instilling confidence in those she works with. Counseling, to Kaity, is not just about offering a listening ear but about genuinely hearing, understanding, and working through the underlying causes of discomfort. By addressing these root issues, we can pave the way for meaningful, long-lasting improvements in well-being. Ultimately, her person-centered approach is guided by kindness and authenticity, and she strives to create a space where individuals feel safe and empowered to explore their challenges and aspirations. It is through this empathetic and thorough approach that Kaity and her clients can work together towards a more fulfilling and balanced life.

She will be working in a school, to provide mental health counseling to students as a School-Based Clinical Counseling intern. Kaity will also be working with all ages in the office setting, where she is particularly interested in anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, feeding and eating disorders, and obsessive-compulsive and related disorders. However, she is open to and excited about exploring other specialities and areas of practice!

Kaity graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts. She is currently working toward a Dual Master’s Degree from Walden University in both School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Her expected graduation date is February, 2025. She has already completed her School Counseling internship working with middle school students. Kaity is also a member of Chi Sigma Iota, the American Counseling Association, and the American School Counselor Association.

When asked what Kaity believes she is awesome at, Kaity replied, “Having patience! This attribute has been a cornerstone of my personal and professional journey. Whether waiting for positive outcomes in my own life, extending understanding to others, or navigating the dynamic environment of working as a substitute teacher in schools, patience has been instrumental in my success. This patience has guided me through challenges and uncertainties, both personally and professionally, enabling me to remain resilient and hopeful. My ability to be patient reflects a deep commitment to nurturing growth and development, whether in myself or in those I work with. It is this quality that I bring to all aspects of my work, ensuring that I approach each situation with care, understanding, and an unwavering belief in the potential for positive change.”

“My favorite animals are goats, and I have a goal of owning multiple goats someday!”
