Counseling
Cultivate healthier coping mechanisms and achieve personal goals.
Teresa Wilson, LPC
Canfield, TELEHEALTH
Teresa firmly believes in the transformative power of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in promoting mental and emotional wellness. Through CBT, she works collaboratively with clients to identify and challenge negative thoughts, patterns, and behaviors, empowering them to cultivate healthier coping mechanisms and achieve personal goals. At the core of her therapeutic approach is the belief that every individual possesses the innate capacity for growth and resilience. She is deeply committed to guiding her clients on their journey towards self-discovery and empowerment. In her practice, she prioritizes creating a safe, inclusive space with respect, empathy, and evidence-based practices. Teresa is dedicated to guiding clients towards healing and well-being.

As an aspiring counselor in the field, her passion lies in working with a diverse range of clients spanning from children to adults. Teresa is particularly drawn to the areas of trauma counseling with a focus on the unique experiences of health care workers, first responders, and individuals navigating postpartum experiences. Through her studies, she is committed to developing the skills needed to provide personalized support and healing. Additionally, her training encompasses spiritual integration, which ensures a holistic approach to mental health.

Teresa holds a Bachelors of Science in Respiratory Care at Youngstown State University, and she is currently a student at Liberty University for a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is also a member of the American Counseling Association.

When asked what Teresa believes she is awesome at, Teresa replied, “I have a natural talent for creating genuine connections with individuals, fostering an approachable and friendly atmosphere. Beyond my professional pursuits, I have a deep passion for the outdoors, engaging in activities such as rock climbing, skiing, and hiking. This enthusiasm for nature and adventure allows me to bring a unique perspective to the counseling experience, creating a comfortable and relatable space for individuals to explore their thoughts and emotions.”

“I bring a light-hearted spirit to life, finding joy in laughter, even at my own expense. In my downtime, you might catch me indulging in the creative world of vision boarding or immersing myself in the serenity of yoga. Balancing humor, creativity, and mindfulness. I believe in embracing life’s moments with a smile, whether it’s through a hearty laugh or crafting a vision for the future on a colorful board.”
